Ship Watch In For Analysis Send your watch in via a trusted and insured shipper with our Service form which you can find by clicking here. 3. Diagnostic Examination Before servicing your watch, we conduct a thorough diagnostic examination that will give you an exact estimate. During this process, every watch is completely documented upon arrival and all challenges are noted and your watch is photographed in order to document its exterior style and condition. 4. Assessment , Cleaning & Servicing Your watch movement is completely disassembled (usually into 250 parts) and each part is carefully examined and replaced if necessary with factory certified original manufacturers parts.
Then all the parts go through an ultrasonic cleaning process to remove all dirt, dust and dried oils. 5. Watch Case Disassembly & Polishing Your watch case is carefully disassembled and
if necessary a new crown and tube are added to ensure your watch remains
completely water-resistant. All gaskets are systematically changed. The case and bracelet are then individually hand polished and refinished to restore their original luster. After a special cleaning process, your watch case is carefully assembled and we perform the first pressure test. The movement is reassembled with painstaking care. Specially formulated oils and lubricants are applied in exact quantities. This operation is very time consuming and requires total concentration. 6. Timekeeping & Calibration After reassembly we will carefully calibrate the balance wheel which is the heart of the movement. Then we will test the performance and daily accuracy of the movement in five different positions on a sophisticated Rolex timing machine to ensure everything is set to manufactures standards. Next, the dial, hands and self-winding rotor mechanism is put in place and the movement is returned to the case. We only use the Chronoscope M1 Automatic timing machine (pictured below) which is used by Rolex authorized service centers and other watch factories such as Omega, Breitling and Tag Heuer.
The newly assembled watch then undergoes 5 days and nights of testing on a specially designed wrist motion simulator, which recreates the normal activity the watch would encounter when worn on your wrist. 7. Pressure Testing & Waterproofing Your watch will be pressure tested in a special vacuum chamber which ensures the renowned pressure-proof qualities of the case are retained.
8. Quality Control The final step involves a stringent visual analysis to make certain you watch is returned to you in flawless mint condition. Shipping RecommendationsWe recommend you use Priority Registered U.S. Mail when sending in your watch for repair. You should pack the watch in a box with bubble wrap (Do not send original watch box). The post office will use paper tape to seal the seams and then stamp the seams to show the box has not been tampered with during shipping. On the Registered Mail for, there is a box to check to insure the package, and it can be insured for up to $25,000. Registered Mail is handled separately from the rest of the mail, and is therefore more secure than plain "Insured" Mail (in fact, everyone who handles a Registered package has to sign for it throughout its transit). Insured Mail uses a blue sticker/form, while Registered uses a red sticker. Insured Mail is adequate for packages valued at less than $500. There is a price break (at about $500) where Registered Mail is actually cheaper than Insured. Additional insurance for Registered packages is relatively inexpensive, so we generally over-insure packages when we return your watch to you. Generally, a package shipped via Registered U.S. Mail and insured for a few thousand dollars will cost about $18 to ship including insurance costs.
